About this Course

At times the McQuesten family experienced financial hardship leading them to practicing the sustainable art of mending their clothes. Today, mending our belongings can not only extend their use, but become beautiful custom embellishments! This experience begins with a shortened house tour highlighting some of the repaired pieces and tools used by the family to take care of their belongs. The workshop continues in the Stable as you are guided through the use of historic and modern tools and techniques, including a darning egg and modern visible stitch mending.
